Maine’s 2020 Reading Connection Chooses THE MAINE POINT to Begin

Since COVID-19 cancelled all the Bean Suppers that were planned to kickoff Maine’s Bicentennial celebration, communities across the state have had to make new plans. Bath, “Maine’s Cool Little City,” is one of those communities. Together with Bath author, Irene M. Drago, The Patten Free Library and The Mustard Seed Bookshop have launched a reading group on Facebook. Each month, a different city or town will choose a book that celebrates Maine’s history, natural beauty, or art to read and discuss online. Their first community-wide read begins on April 15, 2020, and their first read is The Maine Point. Readers from away are welcome! If you wish to participate, look for the group, “Maine’s 2020 Reading Connection” on Facebook and ask to join. In good times and in hard times, books are a great escape!
